Football news Balogun gets 3-match ban for violent conduct...

Nigeria defender Leon Balogun has been banned for three matches for violent conduct by the German Football Association disciplinary committee.
According to BT, the committee ruled that Balogun deliberately kneed Eintracht Frankfurt’s Carlos Zambrano in the 89th minute of Sunday’s Bundesliga match.
Match referee Felix Zwayer did not see the infringement but it was caught by the television cameras.
He has also been suspended from all club activities until the three-match ban has been served.
The 27-year-old who has scored once in 21 Bundesliga appearances will now miss the rest of Mainz’ games this season against Hamburger SV, Stuttgart and Hertha Berlin.
Mainz and Balogun have 24 hours to apply for an appeal hearing.
